JOSÉ ALBERTO GARIBALDI

Jose has 20 years of experience in climate policy, has been an adviser to multiple LAC, European and Asian governments on climate policy, and climate finance to the Asian Development Bank, African Development Bank, and Eastern Europe, and the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank, where he helped to establish climate funds. He has conducted ICE and energy scenario modelling, with multiple research institutions; innovation and finance for WEF, Mexico and Mission Innovation; participated in NDC elaboration in Mexico, the Dominican Republic., Kenya, and Bangladesh; negotiated 16 UNFCCC COPs; advised the presidency of several COPs. He has had high level positions in government in Mexico, and has published multiple books and articles on climate, institutional economics, and energy. He has a master’s in Public Policy and Political Economy at Georgetown university; and an undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Economics and Law PUCP, Perú.
