JAVIER PORTOCARRERO MAISCH

Javier is a leader in knowledge management, he is the Executive Director of the Consortium for Economic and Social Research (CIES). CIES has obtained funds for more than $30 million US to promote more than 600 investigations with an impact on public policies, including dialogues with the President, Ministers and the Congress of the Republic. He has promoted electoral debates, seminars with opinion leaders and courses for journalists. Javier is an economist from the Universidad Católica, where he also completed his studies in sociology and a master’s in economics. He was the Head of Socioeconomic Research Support at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, and a consultant for AECID, BID, COFIDE, Euroconsult, IDRC, ICC, JICA, MEF and Swisscontact. He has been an associate professor at the National Agrarian University. He is a member of the INEI advisory commission on poverty, author or editor of articles and books; and writes a fortnightly column on Management.
